The HERO INITIATIVE if you don’t know yet, is a non profit org, whose only intention is to hold a hand to our elder comic book creators. I’ve always feel honored when they ask me to colaborate in their events, like this one.

So, this is my contribution to the WOLVERINE 100 project.

Guys I’m so excited about this, I just received permission to release this image from the actual production work for THE PRODIGIES, the movie where Francisco Herrera and me worked last year .

This is how the movie will look, the line art was deliver from your friendly neighbor Humberto Ramos, and the final art is by the INCREDIBLE ARTIST , Antoine Poulain.

the director is Antoine Charreyron, remember this name.

About a year ago Francisco Herrera and myself, we both spent 3 months in Paris, many people at that time asked us what did we do there, unfortunately we couldn’t say much because of contracts and stuff, but yesterday i got this link to the Variety online magazine, where they talked about the PRODIGIES.

To those who can read french, you can get LA NUIT DES ENFANTS ROIS and see what the story is all about, those who can’t read it (like me) well, we will have to wait till next summer and discover all about it.

Still I can’t tell you much about the plot , but I can tell you this. For what is worth let me give you guys a tip, remember the name ANTOINE CHARREYRON our boss, director and friend, for you will be hearing a lot about him, the way he directs action, man is crazy!!

ESPAÑOL : Gente, por fin! hay un anuncio oficial de lo que Paco Herrera y yo fuimos a hacer a Paris por 3 meses, desgraciadamente el articulo solo esta en inglés.

La película que fuimos a hacer se llama THE PRODIGIES,  y esta basada en la novela francesa LA NUIT DES ENFANTS ROIS, la novela esta disponible pero solo en francés, así que si saben leerlo pues chéquenlo para que se den un idea de lo que la historia es, sino esperen igual que yo para ver la película el próximo año.

No les puedo revelar más y mucho menos mostrarles imágenes pero les digo esto,  si la versión final se ve como lo que yo tuve el privilegio de vivir en el estudio en París, les digo que le dará a la animación 3D un giro fresco e innovador, y recuerden este nombre ANTOINE CHARREYRON.

Quick post to let you guys know what I’m doing these days, this is the cover for issue 25. I’m half way through it, this will be my last issue in the Avengers the initiative, I loved doing it, Chris Cage rocks!

Some of you may read that I was signed up to attend the COMICPALOOZA show in Houston TX. this weekend, well I was.

Unfortunately the events of the last week in Mexico made me take the decision to cancel my trip to the US, the reasons you can read them or watch them on the news, the Swine Flu is a virus that is hitting us hard to all of us here, our government decide to take strong resolutions in an effort to contain as much as possible the spread of this terrible epidemic, nobody is ignorant of the reach of this virus, and of course most people in Mexico is concern and alert on what to do to prevent been contaminated with the Flu.

This is where my decision comes from, I will explain. Fortunately Me and my family and and friends we are all alright, but this is a more important reason to remain alert and precocious, avoiding places where is a big concentration of people is one the main warnings  we got from day one of the outbreak, so being in a plane or the airport is not the best place to be right now. Family is of course another important issue, as I wrote already my people they are all healthy, but we are all worry and why not even a little scared, so I think is not the best time to go far from them, in Mexico family always come first, and hey I am an average Mexican in that matter, so been away from home these days just would make me feel more worried about the people left behind. Another important reason, is with the people who are expecting to share some fun time with me at the show, the main reason why I attend to Conventions is because is the ONE opportunity I have to talk, laugh, take pictures and shake hands with the fans who like my work enough to go to a convention center and spend their day with me, I don’t want to create any concerns about my personal health and make people wonder and think if I maybe be infected and create an unpleasant environment, again  thank God I’m in good shape and I’m willing to remain this way.

So I want to say I’m sorry for missing the show this year, but I hope you all understand that extraordinary circumstances claim for extraordinary decisions.

The only reason why I cancel an appearance is when  there is a strong reason to do so, I believe  this Swine flu,  is a strong enough reason.

To the people of Houston, I will make it up to you next time.

LA RAZON ES ESTA, HACE UNOS DIAS EN LA CIUDAD DE MEXICO SE DESATO UN BROTE DE INFLUENZA, ALGO TAN EXTRAÑO COMO INESPERADO, EN REALIDAD LA INFLUENZA ES UNA ENFERMEDAD QUE NORMALMENTE TIENE SU CICLO DE VIDA EN EL INVIERNO , PERO HASTA DONDE HE ESCUCHADO EN ESTA OCASION DIGAMOS QUE EL VIRUS MUTO Y ESE HECHO PROVOCA QUE LA GENTE DEL SECTOR SALUD TENGA A BIEN TOMAR EXTREMAS PRECAUCIONES, UNA  DE ELLAS ES QUE HASTA NUEVO AVISO LA GENTE DE LA CIUDAD DE MEXICO PROCURE NO PARTICIPAR EN EVENTOS O ATENDER A LUGARES DONDE EXISTA UNA GRAN CONCENTRACION DE GENTE, ES POR ESO QUE INCLUSIVE EVENTOS DEPORTIVOS Y CULTURALES ASI COMO CLASES EN TODOS LOS NIVELES ESCOLARES QUEDARON SUSPENDIDAS POR LO MENOS DURANTE EL FIN DE SEMANA.

POR PRECAUCION, POR RESPETO A MI FAMILIA Y POR RESPETO AL PUBLICO QUE QUE TENIA LA INTENCION DE COMPRATIR LA MAÑANA CON NOSOTROS.

Les platico que este sábado 25 de abril tanto Francisco Herrera y yo nos daremos una vuelta por el rock show  (cerca del metro Hidalgo) nos vamos a juntar para cotorrear, tirar el chisme y si queda tiempo hasta a lo mejor hablamos de Comics, como ven ¿Se apuntan? si la respuesta es si, nos vemos ahí a partir de las 10 am, y si no quieren ir a vernos, pos…levantense tarde, porque es sábadito y como que da flojera salirse de la cama a tan altas horas de la “madrugada”

Bueno, pues hecho el anuncio, les mando un abrazo y nos vemos este fin de semana.

People, just a few lines to let you know that I’m flying tomorrow friday to Starbuck’s, Seahawks and Mariners homeland.

Yes, after so many years, I’m finally going back to one of my favorites cities in the US, I can’t wait to get there and spend the weekend with you, hopefully you’ll feel the same way.

I’ll see you there!!!

As I am currently working in the AVENGERS THE INITIATIVE book (right now I’m drawing the last page of issue 23),  people is always asking me about what I’m going to do after that (my run in the book ends with issue 25). Let me tell you my next project will have nothing to do with MARVEL mainstream, all the contrary, let’s say I’m taking a sabbatical and again shoulder  by shoulder with Paul Jenkins I will draw this book we called FAIRYQUEST, that will  take me the rest of the year to produce it and it’ll be publish by SOLEIL ( and hopefully by MARVEL too),  at the same time I will finally wrap up the third volume of K (those who follow BD know what I’m talking about).

This is a book Paul and I created many years ago, and we can’t wait to see this project been finally published, if you have seen my latest SKTECHBOOK you got a glimpse of what the story is going to be about, for those who didn’t got the book (same on you!!) I can only tell you is a  story  about love and sacrifice, dressed with tons of action and adventure.

So this is it, the countdown to FQ starts here, hopelly you might have it in your hands by the end of the year.

 Santo de mi devocion, was a great success, so many artists, so much inspiration, great show.

Thanks to the people who made it possible. And here is for you the final stage of my rendition to one of the greatest icons in Lucha Libre.
